Lot 13

This soft haired, furry steer is built good, really sound on his feet and legs, and out of one of the best cows on the place. He is a little later born, and is just starting to bloom up some. He has a bunch of future. He will be good.

Lot 14

This is a big, stout strapping steer out of Luke and Kristen’s Walks cow. He is sure to feed good and should be able to be ready in early to mid summer if you manage him accordingly. The added bonus to this one is that he loves the mud. He likely grew fond of laying in the mud and snow this spring when his overly protective recip mother kept him out in the snow for the first couple weeks. He will wallow in and sop up any puddle he gets close to.

Lot 15

Oklahoma or New Mexico shorthorn out of Luke and Kristen’s Walks cow. Of course, after looking at the shorthorns this year at Albuquerque he’s a shoe in to classify. This is a sound structured good built calf with a bunch of future. He will be good.

Lot 16

This is certainly the sale “sleeper” in my mind. He is out of a really dynamic young cow. Big paws with impeccable structure. He is a square built steer that is better bellied then some of the Here I Am calves. Super thick fuzzy hair; he was maybe the bushiest one of this whole set as a baby.

Lot 17

This stark white calf has sure gotten better in the last few weeks. He is awesome necked, balances great, and has a lot of true muscle shape down his top and in his quarter and stifle. I think he has a perfect set to his hind leg, really soft pasterned, and flexible on the move. This cow generated a good MAB heifer a couple years ago that won her class at Denver as a prospect.

Lot 18

This goggle eyed baldie is a meat and potatoes kind of calf. Stout, wide, and sound with all the structural integrity in the world. He should be easy feeding, he has a great temperament, and checks all the boxes for a good steer that won’t take a bunch of management to be successful. Another calf from Luke and Kristen.

Lot 19

This big, mature steer gets a lot of things correct. He should be good feeding, he’s sound structed, and good footed. This steer is really nice haired and is long bodied and great fronted. I see him being a great prospect for an earlier county fair.

Lot 20

This star headed steer is out of one of Kaleb’s cows. He is stout, sound, and nice built. These Walks Alone calves are usually really good feeding and have a habit of getting better with time and feed. He will be a really nice county fair steer.

Lot 21

A big burley strapping steer here that will be easy to have ready early if you need one in June or July. He is big hipped, sound structured, and very good bodied. He is out of a really nice second calver.

Lot 22

Another big, heavy mature steer than can be ready early. Huge hip, back, belly, and feet like my son. He is stout and should be easy feeding. Not the best haired one, but if you don’t have the resources to grow much he’s your guy. He has the pieces to be a tough one to beat at a lot of county fairs.
