Lot 8

This silver steer comes from Cospers and is New Mexico bred eligible. Very tame and gentle, he is really wide bodied, big hipped, and sound structured. He would be a great fit for a fall or winter fair. He is really good haired and will be fun to show. His full brother last year was reserve steer at Holly, Colorado for a first year exhibitor.

Lot 9

An absolute stand out, and I think the best one of Luke and Kristen’s flush. She is really hard to fault no matter how critical you are. Her neck rockets out of the top of a smooth flat shoulder, great bodied with lots of shape right out of her spine and perfect on her hip and hind leg. She is the kind that can win in the ring and there is a lot of power in the blood to be an outstanding cow.

Lot 10

Wade and Goet are onto something with Man to Man. These cattle are good. This heifer reads as a market heifer but could still be a cow. Super big backed, stout, tons of rib shape, very smooth shouldered, and flat jointed. She will be a great market heifer but if she got anything from her mother, she has a future after her show career.

Lot 11

I look through as many online or catalog cattle of all breeds as probably anyone and rarely come across pure bred Angus cattle that get me very excited! This one from Cedar Mesa/Andrew Shaffer is one good heifer no matter her breed. She is elegant necked, great in her shoulder and chest and like Angus cattle should be huge bodied with so much spring and shape down low. She is great hipped and perfectly sound on a perfect foot and hind leg. She would have likely stayed at Andrew’s and certainly stayed here at my place if her PAP suggested she’d work at this altitude. Breed her Broker, breed her Whiskey, breed her Angus and you may have tax trouble when you sell the calves.

Will be surgically dehorned before sale.

Lot 13

This furry black heifer is sure cowy and sound with an amazing amount of body. She is a skinny necked, soft structured heifer that is awesome on her hind leg and pastern. This is how I like cattle. Great looking with body, skeletal quality, productivity with a little extra. She’s good!

Lot 15

The last of the Walks Alone cow’s flush mates and the one that combines the best attributes of the other heifers. Lots of power and with all in a smooth cowy package. Really level and flexible in her spine with great feet and legs all around. Outstanding in her pin set with as much internal dimension as any.

Lot 16

This colored up heifer of Luke and Kristen’s is an absolute booty girl. Huge hipped and perfect in her pin set and tail head, she is still very lady like up front and from the side. She is sound and great legged and would make a great project for any aged exhibitor.
